July 19, 2010 - Bureau of Prisons Documents Added to Site

April 13, 2010 - New CJA Training Opportunities

New classes from the Office of Defender Services Training Branch, have been added to the CJA Training page.
January 7, 2010 - New CJA Panel Resource

The Office of Defender Services Training Branch has created a National Litigation Support Resources page. It is our hope that it will be a resource for Defender staff and CJA panel attorneys when facing cases with large volumes of discovery and/or electronic discovery.

The Office of the Federal Public Defender, Western District of Pennsylvania, operates under authority of the Criminal Justice Act of 1964 (as amended), 18 U.S.C. § 3006A (CJA). We provide defense services to individuals who are financially unable to obtain adequate representation in Federal criminal cases, appeals, and habeas corpus matters. A person’s eligibility for defender services is determined by the federal court. Attorneys of this office may not represent individuals without an appointment from the court, nor may they engage in the private practice of law.
